Plain message
Use message.send with conversation_id, contact_id, or phone/WhatsApp. BOS sends through the company WhatsApp provider and saves the message in AI Inbox.
Template message
Use message.send_template with template_name, language, and optional components when your external system wants to send a Meta approved template.
AI Inbox visibility
Messages sent through the API are saved in the conversation timeline with external connection details in message metadata.
